National Trust and North of Tyne Combined Authority - International Arts Festival Feasibility

Curated Place were commissioned by the North of Tyne Combined Authority (now the North East Combined Authority) to provide a strategic plan for an Outdoor Arts Festival centred around the stunning Seaton Delaval Hall, to develop into a national programme for the National Trust.

We made an assessment of the opportunities which the National Trust site presented and outlined a strategic programme of growth, covering market trends, transport capacities, socioeconomic baselines and data, social mobility baselining and event impacts, competition analysis, safe capacities, site planning and creative programme.

We approached this brief by deploying:

  • Desk Research

  • Data mining of geographic datasets

  • Site visits, to conduct Site Appraisal & Asset Mapping, ethnography with operational

and creative teams, followed by testing of recommendations

  • Stakeholder Consultation Workshops

  • Stakeholder Interviews

  • Data modeling and analysis
