Púca Festival 2021

Ireland’s Ancient East
October 2021

Curated Place returned to Ireland’s Ancient East in 2021 to awaken the spirit of Púca, bringing more mischief and merriment than ever before! We celebrated the Celtic New Year with the spirits of Halloween at Slane Castle, Drogheda, Trim and Athboy. Curated Place managed the development of a light-trail, some large spectacle performances, storytelling and tour experiences, and also presented the inaugural music programme, featuring renowned and up-and-coming music acts from Ireland.

From 23 – 31 October 2021 visitors from near and afar were welcomed back for a week of music and mythology, sideshows and standup, cabaret and cocktails, and everything else in between. From the likes of Jerry Fish, Joanne McNally, Brian Kennedy, Jiggy, Aoife Scott and many more, the Púca Festival brought County Meath and County Louth to life. The 2021 festival included a new major sound and light experience for the first time at Slane Castle, alongside other events at festival hubs in Athboy, Trim and Drogheda, each steeped in Samhain legend and tradition. We worked with stakeholders across the various town to bring together associated events ranging from whiskey tasting, storytelling, feasts and theatre shows.
