European Light Expression Network (ENLIGHT) was a European Network connecting Cultural Organisations in the UK, Norway and Italy that enabled artists to develop new skills working with technicians and scientists to create a series of accessible, large-scale public realm works realised through international collaborations for international audiences.

Supported by Creative Europe, the project spanned 30 months and delivered two international lab events, six international collaborative residencies, commissioned six major artworks and presented at two light festivals.

Partners

MIRIAD (Manchester) brought their expertise as a leading educational provider in the UK, with a view of society in which arts and wellbeing are interlinked and are vital to maintaining a vibrant and sustainable economy.

i/o/lab (Stavanger) was responsible for the coordination and development of the residency programme in Norway and supported artists to facilitate the production of two new major public realm artworks.

The Fondazione Mondo Digitale (Rome) coordinated the artists’ residency programme in Italy and worked with selected artists to develop new artworks that were presentation at Rome Media Art Festival.

Worked with i/o/lab in Stavanger to create his piece The Global Dérive: The sum is greater Than the Parts which was shown at Spectra in Aberdeen February 2017.

Tobias spent time with Fandazione Mondo Digitale in Rome to develop his work ElektroMistel that was them showcased at Media Arts Festival and thereafter in Spectra 2017 in Aberdeen.

Noise Orchestra are sound art duo Vicky Clarke and David Birchall who were artists in residence at Fondazione Mondo Digitale. Their work SWARM: Play the light of the City was presented at both Rome Media Art Festival and Spectra 2018 in Aberdeen.
